Had a large and screamingly good party on Monday:
New and improved living room.
Hordes of crazies! Em is in the middle of almost every picture.
Once again, we were not broken up by Security, and I spent a happy evening dancing on the couch with Nora, Kara, and Jordan.
Classes have started up as of yesterday, and Intensive Beginning Russian is JUST EXACTLY THAT. 30 pages of homework last night in a crash attempt to learn phonetics and the alphabet. I'm picking up on it quickly for me (he said hopefully after only one day), but it's scary when Vika starts rambling on in Russian and most of us just look blankly at her. Morgan has a favorite word in that class - "Videomagnetophone" - and while doing the listening exercizes for homework, he'll burst out laughing, I'll hear his chair scoot back and footsteps approaching my room, and there he is with a huge grin: "The guy on the recording just said ASS! Hahaha -AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" And then he disappears again. Such are the wonders of the world we live in. Currently, the sound "Myuk" is causing stifled giggles.
Miki's class looks like it's gonna be as awesome as the first one, if not more so, and hopefully without the spaz out about the paper in the end. There's a paper in lieu of a final, which is AWESOME.
Today, more Russian and Art of Acting. Vika says I can add the Russian for credit and then just leave early on days when I have to go to Dramatic Writing, which is awesome because now I don't have to bother with getting the JYA office to factor in credits for LAMDA. Although now that I don't need them, they'll probably do it. This also means that I need to get a course overload form for the first time ever, which is a little ass-backwards - generally one does that to AVOID overloading one's senior year. Everything's interesting so far, though, and I can always NRO one of the Russians if it looks like it's getting out of hand (I've only used one NRO so far in my life - fucking Intro Psych. Urkh.)
Time to go.
PS: Total for books so far is $440. This does not include two textbooks for Russian, a complete works for Seminar, and some books for Art of Acting that haven't come in yet. I'm arsed if I'm buying the first three on the list, cause they're almost $300 right there and that is just insane.
