So I just sent Vika an email saying that I was finding it far too difficult to keep up both with Russian and with my other classes, and will she please let me just audit the class. 6.5 is way too much work already, and since the offending 2 are Intensive Russian, that's gotta be the one to go. I might still consider an NRO for a bit, but I think I'll still kick my own ass doing the work, even for that. And I really really don't want to have to drop it outright, because it's interesting so far... just way too much to do every night. And I've had three tests for it in the last week. I checked through the syllabus, and it doesn't appear that the work decreases in any appreciable way, so... that's that.
In other news, I had a very long and cracked out weekend, which is described in detail by
cilohabla, my awesome director. Apocalypse bunkers in NJ, Ground Zero (first time...), rain in Manhattan, and exhausted hallucinations on the drive home... and then a visit from Ellie and J. Lag's rockin' birthday party right after that.
Speaking of parties, ALL NEGATIVE DRAMA IS HEREBY BANNED FROM OUR HOUSE ON FRIDAY. Seriously. "Valentine's Day? Fuck!" needs to go well, and if things go wrong, I'll be sending people to time out under the stairs.
Other than that... I've just been working. Kinda feeling like Charles Sumner after he ran into the business end of Preston Brooks (thanks, Julie!)
I know I'm only a step ahead of a crash, and it needs to stay that way. Hopefully this audit thing will be a help, and I can work on other projects (like music with Phil Cramer) which will be more fun.
And apparently, we're going to go ahead with the script after all. I have no idea how the whole thing is coming about, but Tyler has some ideas, so we can hope for the best.
